Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan
kesalahan bahasa Indonesia dalam karangan eksposisi
siswa kelas X; penyebab kesalahan, dan upaya yang
dilakukan guru dan siswa untuk meminimalisasi
kesalahan bahasa tersebut.

Pendahuluan 
Berbagai permasalahan yang muncul anggapan bahwa
menulis merupakan beban berat bagi siswa. Bahkan,
guru pun juga mengeluarkan hal yang sama termasuk
dalam hal penguasaan bahasa siswa dalam karangan
tersebut. Dalam hal ini, semakin tinggi tingkat
kesalahan berbahasa siswa, maka semakin rendah
tingkat pencapaian tujuan pengajaran berbahasanya.
Begitu pula sebaliknya. Maka dari itu, diperlukan adanya
upaya untuk meminimalkan kesalahan berbahasa
tersebut.

Metode Penelitian
 Penelitian ini berupa penelitian deskriptif kualitatif
dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Data dan sumber
data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa
dokumen dan informan dengan menggunakan teknik
purposive sampling.

Hasil Penelitian 
Banyak aspek yang dapat diteliti terkait dengan
pemakaian bahasa Indonesia dalam karangan eksposisi
seperti bentuk, bahasa, keutuhan wacana, dan lain-lain.
Akan tetapi, peneliti lebih memfokuskan pada masalah
kebahasaannya. Dari 54 karangan eksposisi yang
dianalisis, ditemukan adanya kesalahan bahasa baik
dari aspek ejaan, kalimat, maupun paragraf.

Pembahasan 
Pembahasan dalam penelitian ini di antaranya kesalahan
ejaan paling banyak dilakukan siswa, kurangnya
latihan menjadi penyebab yang paling dominan
adanya kesalahan berbahasa, pendekatan proses dalam
pembelajaran menulis adalah solusi yang tepat untuk
mengurangi kesalahan berbahasa.

Simpulan dan Saran 
Untuk meminimalkan kesalahan berbahasa dalam
karangan, hal-hal dapat dilakukan guru, siswa, maupun
sekolah antara lain (1) siswa hendaknya memperluas
pengetahuan tentang kaidah bahasanya, aktif bertanya
kepada guru jika mengalami kesulitan, dan sering
berlatih menulis; (2) guru hendaknya memberikan
pengetahuan tentang kaidah bahasa kepada siswa di
setiap proses pembelajaran menulis, dan senantiasa
memperluas kosakata dan memberi contoh terkait
dengan penggunaan bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan
benar secara lisan maupun tertulis; (3) pihak sekolah
hendaknya berkenaan melengkapi sumber pustaka.

Dafar Pustaka 
Sejumlah sumber referensi dari berbagai bahan
bacaan untuk menunjang penulisan artikel ilmiah.
Penulisannya meliputi nama penulis, tahun terbit,
judul buku, kota terbit: nama penerbit.

Gagasan/Saran Penulis
Pada umumnya organisasi tulisan dalam karangan
siswa masih menampakkan penalaran bahasa yang
kurang logis, dan terdapat banyak kesalahan berbahasa
yang meliputi pemakaian ejaan, diksi, kalimat, dan ada
beberapa tulisan yang sama atau mirip.
